On June 20, 2024, UnitedHealth Group issued a press release offering an update on the Change Healthcare cybersecurity incident that occurred on Feb. 21, 2024. While the investigation to determine whose data is impacted is not yet complete, UnitedHealth Group has started the process to notify impacted customers and shared a website that provides additional information. UnitedHealth Group continues to offer credit monitoring and identity protection services, as well as a dedicated contact center to address questions. Transportation

Provides for both emergency and non-emergency ground and air services to and from medically necessary provider appointments for members who:

  • Have no means of transportation.
  • Reside in areas not served by public transportation.
  • Cannot access public transportation due to his or her mental condition.
  • Do not live in a community care foster family home, adult residential care home, expanded adult residential care home, or domiciliary home.

Transportation is not provided to day programs that are not medically necessary.

Authorization is required for any ground transportation to a location greater than 35 miles from pick up location. May require prior authorization.

Adult members who have a diagnosis of SMI, provisional SMI, or SPMI and who require alcohol abuse and/or drug abuse diagnosis, treatment and/or rehabilitative services, will get these services from us. We make decisions about admission to treatment programs, continued stay and discharge criteria based on the most recent edition of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Patient Placement Criteria.
